Mike Strevel / Bryan Hulbert - Owendale, MI (August 25, 2012) In front of an excited crowd at Owendale Speedway Steve Irwin took the checkered flag for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP feature event.

Irwin started fourth and took the lead on the third lap in the Tracy Rice owned entry. Challenged repeatedly by current points leader Gregg Dalman and Brett Mann, the Michigan racer was able to hold on for his first ASCS Sprints on Dirt feature victory in five years.

Short and sweet in victory lane Irwin commented, “It feels great to get back into victory lane at my home track.”

Heat race wins were captured by Irwin, Greg Wheeler, and Davey Brown. The Brodix Heads dash went to Shawn Dancer.
